One thing that's been bothering me for a while, is why aren't we using enough technology to put an end to all manual work?
Isn't it possible - or hasn't it been for a while - to integrate technology into all production processes, in order to completely eradicate the need of human manual labour, once and for all?
What's really keeping us from providing at least free food and housing for every singe human being on planet earth?
It's kind of like a big unconscious conspiracy theory to me, that we're not building enough machines to do our basic stuff, not because we can't, but rather out of some other abstracted reasons, like the need to keep our social hierarchies intact, or to prevent ourselves from facing the serious implications of a work-free society.
From my point of view, we're already more than advanced enough to replace almost all manual labour with automated machinery, but something's holding us back from realizing it.
So is it really a question of technological shortcoming, or is it something else?
