در بحث نژادگرایی هم شدیدترین حالت وقتی هست که "حکومت" دست به این کار میزنه ولی مواقعی هم هست که باز نهادهای غیر رسمی قدرت موجود در اجتماع دست به نژادگرایی میزنند:

Researchers Marianne Bertrand and Sendhil Mullainathan, at the University of Chicago and MIT found in a 2004 study that there was widespread discrimination in the workplace against job applicants whose names were merely perceived as "sounding black". These applicants were 50% less likely than candidates perceived as having "white-sounding names" to receive callbacks for interviews.

شاید این ها هم مثل زن هایی که درآمد کمتری نسبت به مردان دارند تقصیر خودشونه که این ها براشون رخ میده و تبعیضی در کار نیست:))
