Daftarche is a public forum. By making an account, signing in, or writing here you accept these terms and are bound by them. If you do not accept any part of them, do not make an account and do not write.

Daftarche is for adults. By making an account you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. If we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, it is closed.

Anything you write in a public room can be read by anyone: members, strangers, search engines, and anyone who keeps or copies the page. Something you delete may remain in copies, in outside archives and in search engine caches, and Daftarche can remove it only from its own server. Do not write anything whose staying public would cost you.

You keep the copyright in what you write. By posting it here you give Daftarche a licence — worldwide, royalty-free and non-exclusive — to store it, display it, copy it, archive it and distribute it as part of this forum and its archive.

That licence continues for what you have already written after you leave. A conversation belongs to everyone who spoke in it, and taking one side of it away makes nonsense of what the others wrote.

Every post belongs to whoever wrote it and they answer for it. Daftarche does not read or vet posts before they appear, does not endorse them, and they are not the views of the people who run it. If something is unlawful where you are, that is between you and the law there.

• Threats, harassment, stalking, or incitement to violence.
• Revealing anyone's real name, address, telephone number or any other identifying detail without their consent.
• Anything depicting a child in a sexual situation. This one has no edge cases.
• Impersonating someone else, or taking a name meant to be mistaken for another member's.
• Malware, deceptive links, spam and unsolicited advertising.
• Attempting to break the forum, to read data that is not yours, to overload it, or to crawl it automatically without permission.
• Text, images or files belonging to someone else which you have no right to post.
• Anything that is a crime where the forum's server stands.

The people who run the forum may remove, close or move any post, and may suspend or close any account, with or without notice. Daftarche is under no obligation to monitor everything written here, and removing one thing does not mean accepting the rest.

If you believe something here is unlawful or breaks clause 6, say where it is and what is wrong with it. Clause 19 says where to write. You do not need an account to report something — the person who most needs this is usually the one who has none.

Private messages are end-to-end encrypted between members who each hold a key of their own: Daftarche does not hold that key, so it cannot read those messages, cannot recover them and cannot moderate them. A message to a member who has no key yet is sealed under the server's own key until they next sign in, and most members are in that state today — clause 6 of the privacy page says what that means and for how long. If you lose your password your messages are gone and nobody can bring them back. Their being encrypted is not permission to do in them what these terms forbid.

Keeping your password is yours to do. Daftarche does not store it and cannot recover it; the backup codes you are given when you register are the only way back. Whatever is written under your account counts as written by you.

If you hold a right in something posted here, say where it is and what your right is — clause 19 says where to write. It will be looked at and taken down if the claim is good.

Daftarche is provided as it is. Nothing is promised about it being always available, being free of faults, or about what you have written lasting. Backups are taken, but a backup is not a promise.

So far as the law allows, Daftarche and the people who run it are not liable for any indirect, consequential or special loss — including writing lost, messages lost, the forum being unavailable, and anything another member wrote or did. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not permit to be limited.

If someone brings a claim against Daftarche or the people who run it because of what you wrote or did here, answering it is yours.

You may leave whenever you like; ask and your account is closed. What you wrote in public conversations stays — see clause 4. Daftarche may also close an account that has broken these terms.

This text changes. The date at the head says when it last changed. If a change is substantial, members are asked again; members who were already here before these terms were written count as having agreed.

If a clause of these terms is found unenforceable somewhere, the rest of them stand.
